Derail Childhood Cancer supports children and their families through practical, meaningful programs created from lived experience. We're beginning with two direct-support programs designed for two very different moments in the childhood cancer journey.
Hope Express Packs
Support from the very beginning.
A childhood cancer diagnosis can turn an ordinary day into an unexpected hospital stay with little or no time to prepare.
Hope Express Packs provide newly diagnosed pediatric cancer families with practical hospital essentials, comfort items, and resources to make those first overwhelming days a little easier.
Birthdays on Board
We bring the birthday to them.
Birthdays on Board brings personalized birthday celebrations directly to pediatric oncology patients spending their birthdays in the hospital.
Each celebration is built around the individual child, with decorations, handpicked gifts, activities, and sibling surprises that make the day feel like theirs.
This is just the beginning
Hope Express Packs and Birthdays on Board are DCC's initial direct-support programs.
As funding, partnerships, and organizational capacity grow, so will the ways we serve. DCC plans to expand family support, invest in childhood cancer research, and continue building wareness and advocacy efforts that move us closer to a future where children have better treatments, better outcomes, and more time.
